Zakat Fitrah 2023
There is still time to pay your zakat fitrah. We want to thank all those who have paid their zakat fitrah to date. It is $10/person and can be paid online at mifna.com home page (click on the zakat button) or here (direct link) or in person at the iftar or to the following amil (zakat administrator):
- Mohd Rizan Aziman for northern SoCal & Consulate office
- Ishak Japar for central SoCal
- Claude Haston for southern SoCal
Please pay your zakat fitrah by April 16, 2023, if possible so as to enable the zakat committee to distribute the collection to qualified recipients before Eid il Fitri on April 21.
The zakat committee is now accepting nominations for zakat fitrah recipients. Please provide full name and contact information for each recipient nominated.

Who can receive Zakat?
- The poor (al-fuqarâ’), meaning low-income or indigent.
- The needy (al-masâkîn), meaning someone who is in difficulty.
- Zakat administrators.
- Those whose hearts are to be reconciled, meaning new Muslims and friends of the Muslim community.
- Those in bondage (slaves and captives).
- The debt-ridden.
- In the cause of God.
- The wayfarer, meaning those who are stranded or traveling with few resources.
