Ramadan and Shawwal 1445 AH Announcement
Salaam members and friends, Dates for Ramadan & Eid al Fitr 2024/1445 AHThe Islamic Shura Council of Southern California has just announced the following:
- The first day of Ramadan is expected to be on Monday, March 11th. The first Taraweeh will be on Sunday, March 10.
- The first day of Shawwal (Eid al Fitr) is expected to be on Wednesday, April 10th.
For more information on how these dates were determined, please go to the Fiqh Council of North America website at moonsighting.com For more specific Ramadan guidance, including reminders and recommendations, please go to the Shura Council website at shuracouncil.orgMIFNA will observe these dates for the start of Ramadan and Shawwal in solidarity with the Shura council, which represents the majority of Muslims in Southern California.MIFNA will also be organizing two majlis berbuka puasa (communal iftar) and one bazaar Ramadan during the month of Ramadan.Solat (prayer) Hari Raya Aidilfitri and brunch is planned for Wednesday, April 10th.
