1^st Dhul Hijjah and Eid al-Adha (Hari Raya Haji)

Salaam members and friends,

The Islamic Shura Council of southern California has just announced the start of the month of Dhul Hijjah and the date for Eid al-Adha 1445 AH. Below is an excerpt of the announcement:

“The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has announced that Friday, June 7 will mark the first day of Dhul Hijjah. Therefore the ‘day of Arafah’ (hari wukuf) will be on Saturday, June 15^th and Eid al-Adha 1445 AH will be on Sunday, June 16, 2024.”

MIFNA will not be organizing Qurban this year. Members can donate for Qurban through their local masajid or online to any Islamic charity organizations such as:

MIFNA will be organizing Eid al-Adha prayer followed by brunch on Sunday, June 16th, 2024 (10^th Dhul Hijjah 1445H).

Brunch Menu
MIFNA will be providing the following food and drinks:
Sup tulang & daging (beef soup)
Sup kambing (goat soup)
Ayam penyet (fried chicken with sambal)
Acar timun & nenas/jelatah (cucumber & pineapple salad)
Acar buah (fruit chutney)
Dalca sayur (vegetable curry)
Nasi minyak (buttered rice)
Nasi putih (white rice) Dinner rolls
Cold drinks: Fruit punch, Air sirap limau (sparkling syrup drink), water.
Hot drinks: Tea, coffee, 3 in 1 coffee and tea mixes.

Members are welcomed to bring their favorite Hari Raya Haji dish, kuih
(dessert), fruits, bottled water or canned soda.
