First of Dhul Hijjah

The Islamic Shura Council of Southern California has just announced the start of the month of Dhul Hijjah and the date for Eid al-Adha 1446 AH. Below is an excerpt of the announcement:“The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has announced the sighting of the crescent moon, marking the start of Dhul Hijjah 1446AH.  That means, the ‘day of Arafah’ (Hari Wukuf) will be on Thursday, June 5, 2025, and Eid al-Adha 1446AH will be on Friday, June 6, 2025, insha’Allah.”

Dhul-Hijjah Begins Tonight

Several MIFNA members will be performing Hajj this year.  We wish them a safe and enlightening journey and ask Allah to protect the hujjaj (pilgrims).

MIFNA will not be organizing Qurban nor solat Aidil Adha this year. Members can donate for Qurban through their local masjid or online to any Islamic charity organizations such as:

Members are also encouraged to perform solat Aidil Adha at their local masjid or Islamic center.  Please check the Shura council website (shuracouncil.org) for locations of communal Aidil Adha prayers in southern California on June 6, 2025.
