First of Ramadan, MIFNA’s First Communal Iftar and Zakat Fitrah

Just a reminder that the 1st of Ramadan begins tonight after sunset. First Taraweeh is tonight, Tuesday, Feb 17.
The first day of fasting will be tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb 18. Fasting begins after dawn tomorrow.

1st Communal Iftar
MIFNA’s first communal iftar (majlis berbuka puasa) this Ramadan will be on Saturday, February 28, 5-11 pm. Please RSVP to Hasnah Hamdan at 949-230-1472 by Wednesday, Feb 25, 2026, if you plan to attend. Please include the number of people in your party, and how many kids, if any.
Venue: Jurupa Community Center, 4810 Pedley Rd, Jurupa Valley, CA 92509
MIFNA will be providing food and drinks for the iftar. Guests are welcome to bring appetizers, desserts, or fruits.

Nasi Putih (white rice)
Daging & Rebung Masak Lemak Cili Padi (beef and bamboo shoots in chili and coconut gravy)
Kale dan Labu Masak Lemak (kale with squash in coconut gravy)
Udang Goreng Kunyit (fried turmeric prawns)
Ayam Goreng (fried chicken ala KFC)
Spaghetti with Meatballs
Tossed Salad, Garlic Bread, and Pizza
Maghrib, Isyak, and Teraweeh prayers will be held outdoors in the community center garden (weather permitting). Please dress accordingly.

Zakat Fitrah
As a service to our members, MIFNA will begin accepting zakat fitrah of $15/person effective February 18, 2026. You may pay your zakat by any one of the following methods:
- Online at the MIFNA website (mifna.com). Click on the ZAKAT button on the Home page to pay your zakat. Payment by Zelle or PayPal is accepted. Please write ‘zakat fitrah’ in the memo
- In person to MIFNA ’amil at any of the communal iftars.
- By check. Write a check to MIFNA and mail it to ‘Hasnah Hamdan, MIFNA Treasurer, 5632 El Palomino Dr, Jurupa Valley, CA 92509’.
To ensure enough time for the zakat collected to be distributed to those eligible in our community, we suggest that all zakat fitrah be paid by March 15, 2026.
