Eid al Adha Thank You Message
Salaam members and friends,
We would like to thank all our members, friends and guests for celebrating Eid al Adha (Hari Raya Haji) with MIFNA. Approximately 180 people attended the Hari Raya Haji celebration at El Dorado West Senior Center, 2800 Studebaker Rd, Long Beach, CA on June 16, 2024.
Takbeer started at 8:45 am led by Haji Fauzi Zainal and followed by solat Eid al Adha at 9:15 am. Imam Zul led the prayer and Amir Lechner gave the khutbah.
Brunch was served after the prayer at ~10 am. Much appreciation to the chefs and all volunteers who cooked and served the food.
MIFNA President, Hasnah Hamdan, and Consul-General of Malaysia in Los Angeles, Puan Anil Adenan, gave the welcome remarks after brunch.
The following announcements were made at the event:
- MIFNA Emergency Fund has been established. Application for assistance from the Emergency fund will be set up online at mifna.com and announced when completed. Sam Hashim is chair of the Emergency and Zakat committee that will administer the Emergency Fund.
- A survey regarding business partners and business promotions will be mass emailed in a week or two. We would like to get your feedback, so please fill up and submit the survey once received.
- Recognition of Shareeda Leena Ahmad Sharafuddin of Consulate Malaysia and Mohd Akbal Setia of Tourism Malaysia, for their support and contributions to MIFNA during their tenure in Los Angeles. Shareeda and Akbal will be returning to Malaysia in the next few weeks as they have completed their terms of service in Los Angeles.
- MIFNA Vice President, Ishak Japar, sent best wishes and pictures from Makkah where he is performing the Hajj this year with his wife, Nor Sharif and a few other MIFNA members. The pictures he shared were shown at the event.

We thank you for your support of MIFNA’s Eid al Adha (Hari Raya Haji) event. We received more than $1500 cash donations for the event that will greatly help in covering the expenses of the event. Thank you to everyone who brought dessert, appetizers and fruits to share.
