Salaam members and friends,

The new moon has been sighted on the evening of June 29, 2022, confirming that the 1st of Dhul Hijjah will be on June 30, 2022 and that Hari Raya Aidil Adha will be on Saturday, July 9, 2022. Both the government of Saudi Arabia and the Shura Council of Southern California have publicly announced likewise. Thus, MIFNA’s plan to organize a Solat Aidil Adha and Brunch on Saturday, July 9, at Turtle Rock Community Center, 1 Sunnyhill, Irvine, CA 92603 is confirmed. Below are the tentative program and planned menu. Guests are welcome to bring desserts, fruits, or appetizers. 

MIFNA will not be organizing korban this year.  Members may choose to do their korban through charitable organizations such as:

Zakat Foundation of America (https://www.zakat.org/qurbani)

We also request that members bring their own sejadah (praying mat) for the prayers and highly recommend that a mask is worn at all times except during meals. We ask that you stay at home if you have any Covid-19 symptoms such as sore throat, cough, or fever. Please mind your children at all times during the event and maintain a respectful silence during takbeer, prayers, and the khutbah (sermon).
