DESCRIPTION:  \nSalam members and friends\, \nWe are pleased to announce exciting updates for the Family Day event which will be held at the El Dorado Park West Senior Center\, 2800 N Studebaker Rd\, Long Beach\, CA 90815. The followings are the updates for Oct 22\, 2022: \nFamily Day Program Update\n \n  \nGuests Registration\nOnly a few more days till MIFNA’s Family Day and 15th-anniversary celebration on Sunday\, Oct 23\, 2022\, at the El Dorado Park West Senior Center\, 2800 N. Studebaker Rd\, Long Beach\, CA. Please refer to the program above. Guests’ arrival and registration begin at 11:00 am. We kindly request that all guests register when they arrive as they will be given a blue bracelet (as shown in the picture) that they must wear to partake in the event’s activities. \n \nCoupons\n  \n \nCoupons will be sold at the registration table for $1 each and in denominations of 10 ($10\, $20\, $30\, and so forth). Coupons may be used to purchase refreshments and snacks at the MIFNA Refreshments Booth\, churros at the churros concession stand\, Mifna t-shirts\, and as raffle tickets. \n  \nCarnival Games\n \nCarnival games are free for everyone to play.  You earn carnival tokens by scoring a win at the carnival games that you will use to claim the carnival prizes (just like Chuck’ E Cheese).  You can also choose to exchange the carnival tokens for the MIFNA coupons that can be used to purchase refreshments and snacks at the MIFNA Refreshments booth\, churros at the churros concession stand\, MIFNA t-shirts\, and also use as raffles tickets. \n  \nLunch\n \nTables and chairs are set up in the middle of the lawn area across from the senior center for you to have your lunch.  You are welcome to bring your own picnic basket\, blankets\, and lawn chairs\, and find your own picnic spot on the lawn area. You may also choose to have your lunch at the tables and chairs set up in the hall of the senior center. However\, please be respectful and eat quietly in the hall while the opening ceremony and MIFNA Got Talent are underway.  Part of the hall is also used for prayers. \nWe hope by now you have pre-ordered and paid for the food items from the various food vendors that were accepting pre-orders. If you have not pre-ordered don’t worry\, we do have food items available for sale on-site. Please purchase your coupons at the registration table to purchase items on-site as cash transaction is not allowed in the park. E’s Kitchen and Dapur Perwakilan will have a limited number of their posted food items for sale on-site. Gerai LQC will have these food items for sale on-site: Halal Krispy Fried Chicken (2 pc dark meat\, 1 biscuit): $6/pack (available after 12 pm)Cheese Pizza by the slice: $2/slice (available after 12 pm)Vegetarian Pizza by the slice: $2/slice (available after 12 pm)Assorted Kuih (at least 4 varieties): price variesAssorted Yeo’s drinks: $1Assorted canned soda: $1Bottled water: $1Churros: 1 for $2\, 2 for $3 All items for sale on-site will be on a first-come\, first-served basis. \n  \nOpening Ceremony\n \nOpening Ceremony Performance by Dikir Barat Citrawarna Malaysia at 1:30 pm.  Don’t miss it! \nThe opening ceremony of our annual Family Day and 15th-anniversary celebration will begin at 1:30 pm at the hall in the senior center\, with a performance by Dikir Barat Citrawarna Malaysia\, followed by the unveiling of new MIFNA logo\, by MIFNA President Hasnah Hamdan and Consul-General of Malaysia\, Puan Anil Adenan.We kindly request that all guests gather in the hall before 1:30 pm for the opening ceremony. All food vendors and carnival games will also take a short break from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm. Food vendors and carnival games reopen at 2:00 pm after the opening ceremony. \nMIFNA Got Talent\n \nMIFNA Got Talent will be held at the hall in the senior center at 2 pm\, right after the opening ceremony.  All MIFNA Got Talent participants are asked to go to the stage area in the hall of the senior center\, to report to MIFNA Director Faiez Mazlan upon arrival at the park. Also\, please make sure that you are in the hall for the opening ceremony as the talent show begins right after. \n  \nWatermelon Eating Contest\n \nOur all-time favorite Family Day Game\, the Watermelon Eating contest will begin at 3:00 pm in the lawn area. Those interested to participate\, please sign up at the registration table and be at the lawn area before 3 pm for MIFNA Director Sam Hashim to call your name. \n  \nPrize Giving and Raffles\n \nPrize giving ceremony for the winners of the watermelon eating contest and MIFNA Got Talent will be held at the hall in the senior center at 4:00 pm.  All winners and guests are requested to gather at the hall by 4:00 pm for the ceremony\, and the raffle draw happening right after. Carnival Games\, concession stands\, and all Food and Refreshments booths will be closed by 4 pm. \n  \nLiability Waiver\nPlease mind your children at all times throughout the event. Please do not let them play at the jumper\, carnival games\, cross the road/driveway or go to the restroom by themselves. Though the event is only for members\, friends\, and guests of MIFNA\, we are not able to fully control who may be around the hall\, lawn\, and community center.MIFNA will not be liable for any unfavorable incident or accident on that day.
