Ramadan and Shawwal Thank You Message
Salaam members and friends,We would like to thank you, our members and friends, for your support of MIFNA’s Ramadan and Shawwal activities in 2023. First and foremost, we would like to thank our Consul-General, Puan Anil Adenan, and Perwakilan LA for hosting the first iftar at CG Anil’s residence. Our appreciation to Sam Hashim for chairing and organizing the first iftar. Second, we would like to also thank the Long Beach, South Bay, and Arcadia/Al Hambra MIFNA members for their support and organization of the second iftar at the El Dorado Park West Senior Center, Long Beach, CA. We couldn’t have done it without the chefs who prepared and donated the food for the iftar. Our thanks to Ishak Japar for chairing and organizing the second iftar. We had 2 bazaars during Ramadan this year and both had great participation by vendors and members. Our special thanks to all the vendors that participated and all members for supporting the bazaars. Thank you, Salina Farkas, for chairing and organizing these bazaars. Thank you for your zakat fitrah payments in the month of Ramadan. We received more than $3000, which was distributed to 6 recipients before Aidil Fitri. We would like to give our special appreciation to the 2023 Zakat Committee (Ishak Japar, Claude Haston, Mohd Rizan Aziman) for their service. We would like to also recognize all donors who donated generously for the iftars and the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration at Skyview Event Center, Jurupa Valley, CA on April 21, 2023. We received ~$10,000 in donations for iftar and Aidil Fitri. This covers the cost of the Ramadan and Shawwal activities and will help cover some of the costs of our activities for the remainder of the year.Approximately 300 people attended the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration. It was a very festive event with takbeer and Eid prayer starting at 8:45 am, followed by a wonderful brunch of Hari Raya food at 10:00 am. Once again, our appreciation to the chefs and all volunteers who helped make this event a joyous celebration for the community.
