Selamat Berpuasa and First Iftar Invitation

 

Salam members and friends,

First of Ramadan 1446 AH

Just a reminder that the 1st of Ramadan will begin tonight after sunset, (eve of Ramadan), which means Taraweeh prayers will also start tonight.

Hence the first day of fasting will begin at dawn tomorrow, Saturday, March 1, 2025.

We would like to wish all our members and Muslim friends Selamat Berpuasa”.

Zakat Fitrah

As a service to our members, MIFNA will begin accepting zakat fitrah of $15/person effective March 1, 2025. You may pay your zakat by any one of the following methods:

1. Online at MIFNA website Donation/Zakat – MIFNA.  Payment by Zelle or PayPal are accepted. Please remember to write ‘zakat fitrah’ on the memo.

2. In person to MIFNA’s ’amil at any of the communal iftars. This Ramadan’s ‘amil are VP Sam Hashim and director Ishak Japar.

3. By check. Write check to MIFNA and mail to:

Please try to pay your zakat fitrah by Monday, March 24, 2025, so the zakat committee has a few days to disburse the zakat collected to eligible zakat recipients.

Consulate General of Malaysia, Los Angeles will host the first iftar at:

RSVP is required as the event is limited to 150 guests. Please RSVP at https://forms.gle/sWw4cE2JEBbNWUT38 at your earliest convenience. You may view the program of the event when you RSVP.

An RSVP is required for this event, and we have almost reached maximum capacity.
