2024 Ramadan and Shawwal Thank You Message

Salaam members and friends,

We would like to thank our members for your support of MIFNA’s Ramadan and Shawwal activities in 2024 (1445 AH).

We want to thank Consul-General Puan Anil Adenan and Perwakilan LA for hosting the first iftar at Garvey Center in Rosemead, CA. Thank you to Faiez Mazlan and Sam Hashim for coordinating the first iftar.

We also want to thank the Long Beach, Orange County, South Bay, and Alhambra/Arcadia MIFNA members for their support and organization of the second iftar at the El Dorado Park West Senior Center, Long Beach, CA.  Thank you to all the chefs who prepared and donated the food for the iftar.  Thank you to Nor Sharif and Ishak Japar for coordinating the second iftar.

This year, we had one bazaar during Ramadan, which was very well attended. We want to thank all the vendors who participated and all the members who supported the bazaar. Thank you to Anizah Hairudin and Liza Rais for coordinating the bazaar.

Thank you for your zakat fitrah and zakat payments during Ramadan.  We received more than $4000, which was distributed to 8 recipients before Aidil Fitri.  Thank you to the 2024 zakat committee (Sam Hashim, Ishak Japar, Claude Haston, Zain Azhar Arsad) for their service.

We thank all donors who donated generously for the iftars and the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration at the Grandview Ballroom, Diamond Bar Center, CA, on April 10, 2024.

Alhamdulillah, we received over $10,000 in cash donations for iftar and AidilFitr, enough to cover the costs of our Ramadan and Shawwal activities in 2024.

Thank you to James Washington and Lin Adzhar for raising more than $700 in donations from the photo sessions. Note that all photos taken during the photo sessions have been emailed to the email addresses given.  If you have not received your Raya photos after checking your Spam or Junk folders, please contact Lin Adzhar at ladzhar@yahoo.com.

Approximately 300 people attended the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration.  It was a very festive event with takbeer and Eid prayer starting at 8:30 am followed by a wonderful brunch of Hari Raya food at 10:00 am.  Much appreciation to the chefs and all volunteers who helped make this event a joyous celebration for the community.  Thank you to Hasnah Hamdan for coordinating this event.
