2026 Ramadan and Shawwal Thank You Message
Salaam members and friends,
We would like to thank you, our members, for your support of MIFNA’s Ramadan and Shawwal activities in 2026 (1447 AH).
We want to thank the MIFNA Board of Directors and Inland Empire-San Diego-LQC members for hosting the first iftar at Jurupa Community Center, 4810 Pedley Rd, Jurupa Valley, on Feb 28, 2026, which was attended by approximately 140 members.
We also want to thank the Long Beach, South Bay, San Gabriel Valley, and Irvine MIFNA members for their support of the second iftar at Civic Center West, 17101 Armstrong Ave, Irvine, CA 92612, on March 14, 2026, where approximately 160 members attended.
Thank you to all the chefs and volunteers who prepared, donated, and served the food, set up the hall and prayer area, and led the prayers.
We appreciate Nor Sharif for coordinating the food and Aznizam Abdullah for pursuing hall rental in Irvine, for the second iftar. We are also grateful to Siti McCants for the use of her decorations at both iftar events.
We would like to recognize Faiez Mazlan and Aznizam Abdullah for chairing this year’s iftar events.
We had one bazaar Ramadan this year on Sunday, March 8, 2026, that had great participation from members and vendors. We want to thank all the vendors who participated and all the members who supported the bazaar. Much appreciation to Kamal Kho for coordinating the Ramadan bazaar, and Firdaus Mohammad and family, for the use of their backyard at Laurel Ave, Arcadia, for the bazaar.
We are very grateful to those of you who chose to pay your zakat fitrah and zakat in Ramadan through MIFNA. We collected ~$4000, which was distributed to seven eligible recipients before Aidil Fitri. Thank you to the 2026 zakat committee (Faiez Mazlan, Sam Hashim, Hasnah Hamdan, Amir Lechner) for their service.
We had an amazing turnout of about 320 people for the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration at Skyview Event Center, 5257 Wineville Ave, Jurupa Valley, CA 91725, Friday, March 20, 2026. It was a very festive event with takbeer starting at 8:45 am, Eid prayer at 9:15 am, and a wonderful brunch of traditional Hari Raya fare at 9:45 am (session 1) and 10:30 am (session 2). A huge shout-out to the chefs and all volunteers who helped make this event a delicious and joyous celebration for the community. We would like to acknowledge Hasnah Hamdan for coordinating this event.

We thank all donors for their generous donations for the iftars and the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration. We received more than $11,000 in cash donations for our iftar events and Aidil Fitri celebration. Alhamdullillah, the total amount of donations received was enough to cover the costs of our Ramadan and Shawwal activities in 2026.
